Health and Community Care
Accessing appropriate health care if you are an asylum seeker, migrant, refugee or ethnic minority communities can be extremely difficult, in addition to which certain health prevention messages do not always reach ethnic minority communities. Our health access and development project works to provide a broad range of advice including applications for PIP (formerly known as DLA) and ESA.
Increasingly a key aspect of our work also involves supporting individuals in discussions with the overseas departments of hospitals as well as supporting them to make complaints where they feel they have been treated inappropriately or discriminated against.
The project works in close partnership with NELFT to support those with mental health difficulties.
